Just a brief summary about Sweden/Uppsala for those who have not been here before.
- We use 230 V and “Type F” electrical plugs. All (?) European plugs should fit here, for travellers from far you might need a converter.
- Tipping is not mandatory. It is always appreciated but it is not mandatory in any place.
- Most Swedish people speak English and often a third language as well, some might be a bit nervous but the proficiency is high.
- Uppsala is a rather small city, you can walk mostly everywhere.
- Our currency is SEK (krona, crown) and other currencies are almost never accepted. Most major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are excepted almost everywhere, many locals do not carry cash ever. The current exchange rate is shown below
