The VUVX conference series organised by the community using VUV and X-rays in their research for more than 60 years. The conference originated with separate conferences on X-ray science and on VUV spectroscopy but were joined in 2007. The conference is held every three years. The upcoming conference will be held in Uppsala, Sweden on June 22-26, 2026.
The next conference will be held in 2029. Institutions interested in hosting the VUVX conference in 2029 should send a Letter of Intent to the ISC Chair: stacey.sorensen@sljus.lu.se by 1 May 2026, stating their interests to develop a proposal to organise the VUVX conference in 2029.
This more detailed proposal should be submitted to the Chairs before June 1 2026. The representative of the group behind each proposal is requested to give a 10-15 minute presentation of their proposal at the VUVX ISC business meeting during the conference week. The ISC will select the host(s) of the next VUVX conference at that meeting.
The winning proposal will be announced at the closing session of the VUVX 2026. The future host(s) can then give a 10-minute presentation about the next conference to which they would like to welcome the community.
